Voluntary Benefits Through MetLife
Eligible employees can enroll in Accident and/or Hospital Indemnity Insurance through MetLife. These benefits may supplement your health insurance and disability if a covered incident causes you to have expenses your health insurance doesn't cover — or causes you to lose income due to being out of work. Payments are made directly to you and can be used in any way you see fit: use them to help pay for insurance deductibles, co-pays, child care expenses, mortgage payments and more. These coverages feature:
- Guaranteed acceptance for you and other eligible family members.*
- Payments made directly to you.
- Coverage is portable, meaning you can take it with you if your employment status changes.**
- $50 annual health screening benefit per covered individual. See the Accident Insurance summary [pdf] and Hospital Indemnity Insurance summary [pdf] for a list of qualified screenings.
Accident Insurance
Accident Insurance can help you pay for costs not covered by your medical insurance. There are over 150 covered events associated with an accident that could trigger benefits, including various injuries, hospitalization, medical services and treatments.
